Ringwood School Teaching Alliance – Paid Internships this Summer
We have been successful in securing funding to provide opportunities for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) undergraduates to experience mathematics or physics teaching before they commit to a career in secondary education.
The 4 week programme, starting on Monday 18th June 2018, is aimed at 2nd year (or penultimate year) students who may have not considered teaching as a career option but who would like to find out more. Successful candidates will be paid £300 per week and will be hosted within one of the Ringwood School teaching alliance secondary schools.
This exciting will offer undergraduates the chance to gain a deep experience of teaching and will include (but not limited to):
• A combination of teaching, helping with experiments and inspiring future STEM experts.
• Structured training, shadowing and lesson observation followed by a chance to jointly plan and deliver lessons.
• One to one mentors who are experts in their specialism.
• Opportunities to network with qualified subject specialists and find out how rewarding a career in teaching could be.
Should interns then decided to apply for teacher training, they will have continued contact with their mentor for guidance and support to make a UCAS application.
Potential candidates wishing to express an interest in the internships need to complete the following Expression of Interest form: https://tinyurl.com/paidinternshipEOI
Deadline for completion of the Expression of Interest form is Monday 26th March 2018.
