Welcome to Ringwood Sixth Form

An outstanding environment full of challenges and opportunities, both academic and personal. We have high expectations for all students and provide an environment which is intellectually stimulating and supportive. We embrace challenges and develop self-confidence and independence through flexible programmes of study and close working relationships between students and staff. Beyond their studies, we expect students to immerse themselves in the wide range of opportunities on offer so that they develop as responsible, confident global citizens.

Firmly established over many years, the excellent reputation of Ringwood Sixth Form is well-deserved. It is a thriving, highly successful Sixth Form and a fantastic place for young people to learn and develop.

We have high aspirations for every student and we strive to ensure that all students achieve their full potential through a clear focus on learning and achievement in a supportive environment. Students only get one chance and we take our role in providing the best possible opportunities for them very seriously. We are proud of all our students’ achievements and we take time to celebrate these whether they are academic, sporting, artistic or dramatic.

In 2011 Ringwood School was one of the first schools in the country to become a ‘Teaching School’. This prestigious status allows us to work collaboratively with many other schools and gives us access to an exceptionally wide range of opportunities. This is important for us as it helps us to develop our classroom practice and to continually improve the experience of students in lessons.

Great teaching has delivered GCSE results that are consistently well above the Hampshire and national average. At ‘A’ Level performance is very strong; we are currently ranked in the top 5% of post-16 providers across the country by ALPS (A-Level Progress Score). Our Sixth Form is full of enrichment and opportunity and has been classed as ‘outstanding’ in our last two inspections.

As a parent myself, I know that children and young people learn best in an environment which is secure, happy and caring. We work hard to create the right atmosphere in school and to see each child as an individual. Our students’ conduct is judged to be ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted both in lessons and around the school. Students know that their views are listened to and they take pride in, and responsibility for, their school community. During their journey with us, we aim to equip our students with the skills that they will need to flourish; to make the best of opportunities and to be able to positively contribute to society. We especially value our collaboration with parents and the wider community on this journey; ensuring that this partnership is to the benefit of your son or daughter. This is a critical part of our success together.

I hope that this website gives you a taste of life at Ringwood School. If you would like to visit in person you are always very welcome. I look forward to meeting you.
