		<title>New to you</title>

Ringwood School PTA working in partnership with the Learning Support Department, are going to start running a second hand clothes 'New to You' service during parents' evenings. This should help parents with rapidly growing children and the rising costs of living.

The service will run for all parents during parent consultation evenings. Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity not only to purchase, for a small sum second hand uniform and PE kit but also to search the lost property for any missing items.

		<title>Eco-Schools Ambassador</title>

		<description><![CDATA[Ringwood School has been awarded a prestigious role as an Eco-Schools Ambassador for 2013-2015. Only 11 schools across primary, secondary, independent and maintained sectors have received this award in the UK. The Ambassador award is only offered to inspirational Green Flag schools that currently extend their support and commitment to sustainability and the wider community.

The award is the culmination of a huge amount of hard work for Mrs Hickman, Mrs Fernandez-Lee and many supportive members of staff. 		<title>Students teach valuable lesson at National Union of Teachers Conference</title>

		<description><![CDATA[Students Sam Whittingham and Millie Wells, both 15,  were the first ever Young Ambassadors to gain a standing ovation for their speech at last week’s National Union of Teachers (NUT) conference.
&#160;

Addressing 140 education professionals at the conference, their speech reminded attendees that children abroad have the same rights to education as young people in the UK. Millie and Sam have recently returned home from a trip to India with the Send My Friend to School Campaign.

		<title>Safety &#8211; Access to the school</title>

		<description><![CDATA[I would like to remind parents that we do ask you not to enter the access road to the school site or to enter the school grounds at the beginning and end of the school day. The only exception is for parents who have an agreement with the school to use the disabled parking spaces. On a number of occasions this term parents have tried to access and leave the site when students are moving between buildings and to and from school. This is really dangerous.

		<title>Students face Engineering Dragons at Motorola!</title>

		<description><![CDATA[As part of winning ‘Save The Day’ STEM Challenge, Ten Year 8 students attended the second part of the competition at Motorola on Wednesday 27th February.

KS3 Coordinator for Science, Mr Powell, said: “The day was a huge event organised by Tomorrow’s Engineers and The National Schools Partnership, with around 18 schools from Hampshire and Wiltshire sending teams to pitch their engineering innovations to a teams of ‘Dragons’. 		<title>Cashless Catering</title>

		<description><![CDATA[The biometric cashless catering system provided by Nationwide Retail Systems is being introduced in the new year by our catering team and will be linked to the ParentPay on-line payment facility.

&#160;

This system will help reduce queues at lunch time, provide anonymous free school meals to pupils and allow monies to be pre-paid for dinner money.

&#160;

The system will go live from 14th January 2013 for those students for whom we received an “opt-in” in the recent data collection exercise, and activation letters will be sent in the post over the Christmas period to their parents/guardians.
