Specialist Leaders in Education
The SPELL alliance provides access to SLE’s (Specialist Leaders in Education). SLE’s are middle or senior leaders in alliance schools with capacity and commitment to school to school outreach work, directly supporting other leaders by applying their specialist knowledge and expertise, and so improving outcomes for children.
The current SLE’s across both primary and secondary have a number of areas of expertise that the SPELL partnership is looking to support and deploy. Please see below.

Specialist Leader of Education Primary
As Foundation Stage Leader, I was responsible for introducing the new Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and EYFS Profile. I have introduced a whole school focus on Speech and Language and led whole staff CPD on this. I am passionate about looking at ways of supporting vulnerable children in our school and working with staff, parents and other agencies to enable this. Recently, this has included setting up a ‘Health Education Partnership’, working with local GP practices to support children in our school.
Current areas of expertise:
I am currently KS1 Phase Leader. I am the Designated Person for Safeguarding and the Designated Teacher for Looked after children. I am responsible for monitoring the allocation and impact of Pupil Premium spending. Although I have not recently worked to support other schools, I have previously shared expertise with other Early Years settings.
