Year 10 Summer Exams & Revision Resources

Our vision – Inspired to learn, supported to succeed

Thank you for looking at the resources on this page; we hope you will find them useful whether you are a parent or a year 10 student. Exams for core subjects (English, Maths and Science) will take place from Wednesday 29th June to Friday 1st July, with exams in other subjects taking place during timetabled lessons from Monday 20th of June to Monday 27th of June inclusive.

In total, there are 5 videos to watch, mostly about 15/20 minutes long. you will find videos on how to make your memory work and your revision stick; how to look after your mental health in the lead up and during an exam period; clever tricks to try to help your revision, and of fundamental importance, how to tackle writing an effective revision timetable.

If you would like to check when the core exams are then please click ‘Year Ten Core exams timetable‘ to see the schedule. As one of the reasons for students to do exams in Year Ten is to familiarise them what how public exams run ready for their real exams, we always operate with the same rules as we have to have in place for external exams. Therefore, if you would like to check these with your child, please look at the following three documents:

The JCQ Warning to Candidates
The JCQ Information for Candidates
The JCQ information about unauthorised items

Nearer the time of exams, tutors will ensure students are familiar with the rules, regulations and equipment needed for their Year Ten exams.

In addition, we have put together a Year Ten Revision Booklet with Topic Lists for you which outlines all the most effective ways to revise and reveals some myths about strategies that are sometimes thought to be effective, but in reality are not. You can find this booklet in this section of the website too.
